Behind the Cause
Karyzma Kares Foundation's mission is dedicated to uplifting and empowering women as they rebuild their lives after experiencing trauma. Karyzma Kares envisions a community where women affected by trauma, whether it is a sickness, an illness, or any other life changing event, receive support, visibility and the resources they need to reclaim their confidence and self-worth. We strive to highlight and address the challenges women face, while helping them feel empowered, valued, and prepared as they rebuild their lives and transition back into society. We provide professional support services to include fashion and image consulting, health cause awareness, personal pampering, and styling services.
Karyzma Kares Foundation provides professional support services including fashion and image consulting, health-related educational awareness, personal pampering, and styling services to empower women as they rebuild their confidence. We host clothing drives and photo shoots to promote the "Dress for Success" model encouraging women to believe in themselves and embrace their potential. We also create safe spaces for women to share their stories and experiences. By speaking openly about their journeys, they inspire and motivate others to move forward and rebuild their lives after a traumatic or life altering event.
My passion has always been to love people, to genuinely care about the issues that affect women most --and men--, and to share with others what I have been blessed to receive throughout my life, and that is: to have compassion, and a deep love for one another.
After retiring from federal service in December 2022, I stepped into my purpose: founding Karyzma Kares Foundation, a non-profit based in Maryland dedicated to empowering women who have experienced trauma in their lives. “Karyzma” is not just the mission; it is my passion; it is my purpose. Fashion has always been my passion. For years, I dreamed of creating a non-profit to give back to the community.
With over 40 years of experience in local, state, and federal government, as well as the private sector, I have spent a lifetime in service and leadership. This work is my calling; it is not just what I do, it is who I am.

I am Priscilla Cooke, wife, mother of six, and grandmother of twelve. As Founder and CEO, I am committed to helping women rebuild self-esteem and confidence through professional support services, from educational programs to fashion and image consulting. We use style as a tool for healing, strength, and self-expression.
As the founder of Karyzma, I believe that transformation begins within--but what's on the outside can reflect and reinforce that inner strength. My motto is: when you look good on the outside, you feel good on the inside. When you feel good on the inside, you can move forward with confidence and “karyzma”.
Dressing for success encompasses showing up each and every day for whatever the occasion to be your best self. When we wake up in the morning we should put on our best outfit; not only our outer appearance, but put on our best inner self; a beautiful smile, confidence, share a kind word, do a good deed, perform at our best and be the best that we can be.
